John C. Meredith letter to Dr. James C. Guy [manuscript], 1842 Oct 15.

Meredith writes with an answer from the "Professor of Chemistry" [Robert Rogers] about Guy's question on the chemistry of boiled water and boiled milk. Meredith then comments on the "prospects of the University & particularly the medical department." He mentions Dr. [James L.] Cabell, and Professors [Robert E.] Rogers and [Henry] Howard and fellow student "[D.T.] Johnson of Louisa." He closes with a comment about his boarding house outside the University.
